Allowances: RBE No.44/1987 – Railway Employees Serving in NER

Sub: Allowances and facilities for Railway employees serving in the States and Union Territories of North-East Region.

1. The Special orders governing payment of House Rent Allowance to the Railway employees posted to the North-East Region, vide this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 30.06.1984 and the clarificatory orders dated 04.09.1986 (RBE No.158/1986),

are to be reviewed as a result of the recommendations of the 4th Pay Commission. Pending such a review, the sanction of the President is accorded to the extension of this facility on the existing terms and conditions, for a period of six months w.e.f. 01.11.1986 or till issue of revised orders, whichever is earlier.

2.     This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
