Sub: Mileage Allowance for journeys on foot/ bicycle

1. Attention is invited to Note (1) below para 2 of Annexure to Board’s letter No.PCIII/73/TA/1, dated 29th April, 1970, wherein it has been laid down that for journeys on bicycle/ foot, the road mileage will be 6 paise per km.

2. In partial modification of the above note, the Ministry of Railways have decided with the sanction of the President that the rate of mileage allowance for journeys on foot/ bicycle, on tour/ transfer, may be revised from 6 paise per K.M. to 15 paise per K.M.

3. These orders take effect from 29th July, 1987.
