RBE No. 19/1985: Special Pay – To JAG Officers – EDP Centers
No.E(P&A)I-83/SP-11AC-2, dated 17.01.1985
Sub: Admissibility of special pay in the JA Grade to officers promoted to the JA Grade on ad-hoc basis in the EDP Centers and System Development Groups.
1. Doubts have been raised whether Senior Scale Officers who are promoted on ad-hoc basis to JA Grade and are posted as Senior Electronic Data Processing Manager in the Computer Installations or appointed to the JA Grade in System Development Groups on the Central, Eastern and SC Railways and the Wheel & Axle Plant, Bangalore, would be eligible to draw the special pay of Rs.200 p.m. sanctioned for these posts in the JA Grade, in view of the fact that the officers on their ad-hoc promotion draw restricted officiating pay under FR 35.
2. The Ministry of Railways desire to clarify that in such cases, in addition to the officiating pay as fixed from time to time under extant orders, the officers, even though officiating in the JA Grade on ad-hoc basis, will also be eligible to the Special Pay of Rs.200 p.m., since the Special Pay in these cases has been sanctioned for an entirely different purpose altogether.
3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
