RBE No.24/1985 Additional Dearness Allowance – Revised rates

Sub: Payment of Additional Dearness Allowance to Railway Employees – Revised rates effective from 01.08.1984 and 01.11.1984.

Reference this Ministry’s letter No.PCIII-82/DA/1, dated 15.09.1984 on theabove-mentioned subject. The President is pleased to decide that the rates of Additional Dearness Allowance specified in para 1 of that letter will stand modified as follows:-

(A) 01.08.1984 to 31.10.1984 Upto Rs.300 141.5% of pay subject to a minimum of Rs.35 plus 124% of pay and a maximum of Rs.422
Above Rs.300 and upto Rs.400 Rs.62 plus 120% of pay.
Above Rs.400 and upto Rs.800 105.5% of pay subject to a minimum of 15.5% of pay plus Rs.480
Above Rs.800 and upto Rs.900 Rs.100 plus 93% of pay.
Above Rs.900 and upto Rs.1000 Rs.127 plus 90% of pay.
Above Rs.1000 and upto Rs.2000 Rs.1027
(B) 01.11.1984 onwards Upto Rs.300 145.5% of pay subject to a minimum of Rs.35 plus 128% of pay and a maximum of Rs.434
Above Rs.300 and upto Rs.400 Rs.62 plus 124% of pay.
Above Rs.400 and upto Rs.800 108.5% of pay subject to a minimum of 15.5% of pay plus Rs.496
Above Rs.800 and upto Rs.900 Rs.100 plus 96% of pay.
Above Rs.900 and upto Rs.1000 Rs.127 plus 93% of pay.
Above Rs.1000 and upto Rs.1030 Amount by which pay falls short of upto Rs.2057
Above Rs.1030 and upto Rs.2000 Rs.1027

2.     The rates of additional dearness allowance as specified in para 1 above are payable in addition to dearness allowance at the rates mentioned in item (3) of para 1 of this Ministry’s letter No.PCIII/73/DA, dated 12.02.1975 in so far as they relate to employees getting pay upto Rs.2000 p.m.

3.     The President is also pleased to decide that in modification of para 3 of this Ministry’s letter No.PCIII/82/DA/1, dated 15.09.1984, the total dearness allowance as well as additional dearness allowance on the pay above Rs.2000 p.m. will, with effect from 01.08.1984 be as follows:-

Rs.2001 to Rs.2749 Rs.1270
Rs.2750/- and above Rs.1650

4.     In partial modification of this Ministry’s letter number PCIII/82/DA/1, dated 26.03.1982 as amended from time to time, further adhoc Dearness Allowance for Officers getting pay above Rs.1638 p.m. will, w.e.f. 01.08.1984 be regulated as under:-

Pay Range Rate of Adhoc Dearness Allowance per mensem
Rs.1639 to Rs.2749 82% of basic pay as defined in F.R.9(21)(a)(i) Rule 2003(21)(a)(i) R-II plus Non-Practising Allowance, if any, less DA and Additional DA admissible in paras 1,2 & 3 above subject to the further condition that the increase in total dearness allowance payable by this order from 01.08.1984 shall not exceed Rs.150 p.m.
Rs.2750 and above. Rs.600

In respect of Officers getting pay above Rs.1518 but below Rs.1639, the further adhoc dearness allowance will continue to be regulated according to para 4 of this Ministry’s letter No.PCIII/82/DA/1, dated 13.04.1983.

5.     The payment of these two instalments of Addl. DA/Ad-hoc DA will be made in cash along with the salary of January, 1985.

6.     The payment on account of dearness allowance and additional dearness allowance will be rounded off to the nearest 10 paise.
