RBE No.31/2022 Cipher Operators – Revision of Designation

Sub: Revision of Designations of Cipher Staff over Indian Railways.
1. The issue of re-designation of Cipher Staff over Indian Railways has been under deliberation between staff and official side for considerable time. After thorough examination, it has been decided to revise the designations as under.
2. The revised designations may be implemented as follows:
| Sl. No. | Present Desig. | GP and Level | Re-designated as |
| 1 | Cipher Operator | Rs.4200, PB-2, L-6 | Cipher Inspector Gr-II |
| 2 | Cipher Inspector | Rs.4600, PB-2, L-7 | Cipher Inspector Gr-I |
The above will not entail any change of pay levels, recruitment rules, seniority and duties & responsibilities.
