RBE No.36/1985: Service records

Sub: Maintenance of service records.

Ref: Instructions contained in Boards letter No.E(G)79-Inspection-1, dated 29.12.1979 in connection with the inspection of offices – Personnel Department.

The Railway Reforms Committee vide recommendation No.92 have recommended as under:

“Service records of staff should be kept up to date in order to cut down grievance handling time. This should be the special charge of the Personnel Branch and form part of the duties of Personal Inspectors.”

The Railway Ministry have considered the above recommendation and have accepted the same.

They, therefore, desire that the contents of the same may be brought to the notice of all concerned and should be kept in view while maintaining or updating the service records.
