RBE No.50/1986 Additional Dearness Allowance – Rates w.e.f. 01.01.1986

Sub:   Payment of Additional Dearness Allowance to Railway employees – Revised rates effective from 01.01.1986.

1. Reference Department of Railways letter of even number dated 16th January, 1986 (RBE No.10/1986) on the above subject. The President is pleased to decide that the rate of Additional Dearness Allowance specified in para 1 of that letter will stand modified as follows:

 

Period for which payable Pay range Rate of Addl. Dearness Allowance per mensem
01.01.1986 onwards (i) Upto Rs.300 165.5% of pay subject to minimum of Rs.35 plus 148% of pay and a maximum of Rs.494.
(ii) Above Rs.300 and upto Rs.400 Rs.62 plus 144% of pay.
(iii) Above Rs.400 and upto Rs.800 123.5% of pay subject to a minimum of 15.5% of pay plus Rs.576.
(iv) Above Rs.800 and upto Rs.900 Rs.100 plus 111% of pay.
(v) Above Rs.900 and upto Rs.1000 Rs.127 plus 108% of pay.
(vi) Above Rs.1000 and upto Rs.2000 Rs.1207.

2. The rates of Addl. Dearness Allowance as specified in para 1 above are payable in addition to Dearness Allowance at the rates mentioned in item (3) of para 1 of Department of Railways’ letter No.PCIII/73/DA, dated 12.02.1975, in so far as they relate to employees getting pay upto Rs.2000 per month.

3. The President is also pleased to decide that in modification of para 3 of the Department of Railways’ letter No.PCIII/85/DA/1, dated 02.09.1985 (RBE No.254/1985), the total Dearness Allowance as well as Additional Dearness Allowance on the pay above Rs.2000 per month will, w.e.f. 01.01.1986 be as follows:

Rs.2001 to Rs.2749 – Rs. 1450

Rs.2750and above – Rs.1950

4. In partial modification of the Department of Railways’ letter No.PCIII/82/DA/1, dated 26.03.1982, as amended from time to time, further adhoc Dearness Allowance for Officers getting pay above Rs.1636 p.m. will, w.e.f. 01.01.1986 be regulated as under:

Pay range Rate of Adhoc Dearness Allowance per mensem
Rs.1637 to Rs.2749 93% of basic pay as defined in F.R. 9(21)(a)(i) plus Non-Practising Allowance, if any, less D.A. and Addl. Dearness Allowance admissible in para 1, 2 and 3 above subject to the further condition that the increase in total Dearness Allowance payable by this order from 01.01.1986 shall not exceed Rs.150 p.m.
Rs.2750 and above. Rs.600

In respect of Officers getting pay above Rs.1518 but below Rs.1637, the further adhoc Dearness Allowance will continue to be regulated according to para 4 of the Department of Railways’ letter No. PCIII/82/DA/1, dated 13.04.1983.

5. The payment on account of Dearness Allowance and Additional Dearness Allowance will be rounded off to the nearest 10 paise.
