RBE No.68/1999: GDCE – Widening of scope

Sub: Scheme of General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) for filling up 25% direct recruitment vacancies in certain Group ‘C’ categories – Widening of scope of.
Ref: Board’s letter of even number dated 11.06.1997 (RBE No.81/1997) on the above subject.

Pursuant a demand raised by the staff side in the Departmental Council under the JCM scheme the question of allowing Running staff fulfilling the qualifications laid down for direct recruitment to appear in the General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) for filling up 25% of the vacancies against direct recruitment quota in the categories of Junior Engineers Gr-II in the pay scale of Rs.5000-8000 (RSRP) has been considered by the Board.

It has been decided, in supersession of para 2.1 of Board’s letter dated 11.06.1997 (RBE No.81/1997) as modified by their letter dated 12.11.1997 (RBE No.158/1997) and 18.12.2017 (RBE No.184/1997) that Running staff fulfilling the qualifications required for direct recruitment to Junior Engineer Gr-II may also be allowed to appear in the GDCE in the categories of Junior Engineer Gr-II in the pay scale of Rs.5000-8000 (RSRP).
